It's funny how we say things without thinking. How words, jargon, and brand names take on a meaning that is completely unrelated to what it should actually be?
Take Mountain Dew, for instance. What first came to mind? Neon green soda? Low sperm count? Hyper-caffeinated-stay-awake-all-night-totally-artificial beverage?
What probably didn't come to mind was a crisp, lush mountain. A mountain like you'd see in "The Sound of Music", covered with daisies and fresh grass, pine trees springing up, and a morning layer of dew drops.
Mountain Dew, huh?

Do you know the song "mountain dew". It's an old bluegrass song about moonshine. I think that might be where the name debuted in the beverage world.
